This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
Conceived by Carrol Shelby, the original Cobra came about as an Anglo-American co-operation initiated and brought to fruition by Mr. Shelbys efforts to put the then-new Ford small-block V-8 into the AC Cars of Englands lightweight Ace roadster. Later, in a quest for ever-increasing performance, Shelby-American redesigned the car to accept Fords bigger-block 427 engine that provided a quantum leap in speed. The new cars were an American re-design although still built by AC in England. With the extra weight and power, the 427 was notoriously tricky to handle, but did achieve an astounding 0 to 100 mph and back to 0 time of just over 13 seconds on street tires. In the hands of very capable drivers, full-race versions proved successful in competition. Although somewhat limited in general sales, the Cobra went on to be one of the most replicated cars in history and established Shelby as an automotive legend. Here I've done a rendition of the iconic, muscular 427 Cobra in the technical Bluep...
About Douglas Switzer
I’ve been a total gearhead since I was a kid and first got introduced to cars and racing. I elected to make art and illustration my career and set out from college as an independent freelancer doing design and illustration work for a wide variety of clients. I’ve been at it for over 40 years now. Back in the mid-1970’s, I had the idea of doing a series of art-prints that were very technical-looking and would appeal to both engineering-types and automotive enthusiasts. These early designs were laminated onto plaques and marketed quite successfully. Now, some 40-odd years later, I’m reviving the concept and once again, offering a product that will appeal to both art lovers and technical-types. Have a look through my current offerings...

I've always had a technical side and wanted to bridge that gap between technology and art. The "Blueplanprints" idea of drawings that simulate a blueprint is the embodiment of this idea. I started doing these things over 45 years ago and just now I'm "tweaking" them to a point that brings satisfaction, not only to myself, but many other like-minded people. I thank everyone for their kind comments and invite you all to watch for more Blueplanprints in the future.
